July 26, 2008

Sorry we didn't post yesterday but Laura and Matthew didn't come home from Abingdon and I didn't get home from there until about 11 last night.

They put Kirk under anesthesia and put the tube into his liver to drain the enzymes. He came through the procedure fine. His color was much better a couple of hours after the procedure. He is in the critical care unit for observation. They gave him blood last night and he was resting well. They are going to keep him in the critical care unit for a day or so to observe him. Laura said he rested pretty good last night.

Please continue to pray for Kirk and the family. We will let you know if anything changes. Keep the comments coming Kirk reallly enjoys hearing from everyone!

You don't know me but I'm Amy Bear's Aunt & Danny Copenhaver's wife. Never mind that but I want you to know I am praying for you. The main thing I always hang onto is that God is good and He is in control no matter what happens. I find peace with God is best when I quit trying to figure it all out and just say "I'm trusting You no matter what".

Dear Kirk, I wanted you to know that my husband and I are thinking of you and your family. We will continue to pray for you. You coached my son, Janson Sams, this baseball season. He thinks so much of you and asks about you a lot. You have proven to be strong throughout everything you have had to endure. Continue to keep that inner-strength that God has given you. Take care, Tommy and Debbie Turner

Kirk, It's been a while since we've posted to your website. We think of you and your family often. We wanted to let you know that we continue to keep you all in our thoughts and prayers. We share a common angel. Claire Lambert. Clarie has made the connection for patients discharging from the hosital to our homecare services. She is certainly a God sent. It is comforting to know that you have someone like her to help. If there is anything that we can do for you, she has my email at work. I hope that Chase had a good birthday. We should only realize that each day is a gift, and as we have the opportunity to share it with family and friends live in the moment.
Football is starting and the boys are getting into the groove. It won't be long before school starts, can't hardly imagine. We miss you here in Rural Retreat. Many prayers are going out to you. You are on many prayer chains at churches and people are joining in from around our community and others. I believe in the power of prayer and I believe that God is with you and your family. Trust in him.
