Hello everyone. I am going to post an update for Kirk and Laura today. We haven't updated for a while because really there hasn't been much change until now.
Kirk is in Johnson Memorial in Abingdon, VA. He was admitted into the hospital on Monday night (early Tuesday morning). They gave him blood on Tuesday and he had a colonoscopy yesterday which came back with good news. There is no cancer in the colon. However, they are still not sure where he is loosing so much blood. His blood level was 11.7 yesterday and this morning it was 10.5. His platelets were down to 13 this morning so he will be getting more platelets today.
He is eating pretty good and they have his pain under control for now with medication.
They want to thank everyone that donated blood to the hospital the past couple of days. I am sure Kirk will be getting more over the next few weeks.
Please pray that he will get stronger and will be able to have a treatment soon. Please post comments and well wishes. We will be printing these and delivering them to him. It is so good for him to see that everybody here at home is pulling for him and cares about him!
Laura will update tonight or tomorrow or whenever she is able to run home for a while.
Monica

P.S. My brother Mark is also a Doctor there w/ Dr.Swan. I told him to check in on you from time to time.
God Bless!

Anabel misses her favorite uncle. You need to get home soon so she can come and see you. The reason you think she feels so heavy is because she gained almost 3 pounds in the last month. At the doctor yesterday she weighed 9lb 2 oz. We miss and love you very much.

Kirk,
You are such a strong person. Keep the faith. All your friends are a testimony to what a great person you truly are. You have always puts others ahead of you, and have given so much to the community so now let us take care of you. Let anyone know what we can do, and I know everyone will try their best to get it done. I am asked about you so many times through out the day. You are in everyone's prayers. Hang in there.
Love,
Sabrina
