Kirk and Laura had a good visit from Mike and Alisha. They left around lunchtime today. Laura said that Kirk ate a little more today and has had no nausea. It seems that everyday he improves a little from the day before. Prayers are certainly being ansewered. I am thankful for that. She said that he gets out of the room and walks down to where the computer is 2 or 3 times a day to check out the blog, so keep the comments coming. It is good for both of them to have a connection to home.

I have been diagnosed with cancer. The cancer is of unknown primary which means they do not know where it originated. I have several tumors on the bone. I have be working with the Cleveland Cancer Center and an oncologist in Abingdon. This site is for my friends and family to see how I am doing each day. Thanks for checking in. Hey Kirk. Just wanted to say that we are glad that you are eating more and feeling stronger. I was thinking about you the other day about when Moma was sick in the hospital in Bristol. It never failed around 8:30 every morning you would call and say "hows your Mom?". I will never forget that. Your genuine concern was greatly appreciated. Hurry up and get home. You owe us dinner, remember?

Hey guys, well we had a wonderful visit from Mike and Alisha. Kirk really enjoyed spending time with Mike and I really enjoyed trying to find a place to stay with Alisha. We always have an adventure. It was so good to see some friends from home. Hopefully in a couple of days they will be returning, this time to take Kirk home. They have a really nice motorhome that Kirk can ride comfortably in which will be much better than a car. I think that Allen and Theresa Dix are also coming and that way we will have a nurse on board just in case. The doctors told Kirk that all he has to do now is make sure he is eating enough. They have taken him off of the IV nausea medication and he takes a pill that is working well. They also are getting the pain medication under control. Kirk comes to look at his blog at least 2 or 3 times a day. He says it's just unbelievable the prayers he is receiving. It has really touched his heart. Everyone take care. God Bless!

The final countdown is finally near! There's approximately 6 weeks between me and the goal that I have been working towards for what seems like forever. I am having mixed emotions, kind of like when you graduate high school. I have grown to love these girls who I have shared my life and love of nursing with. Together, we have ventured through the murky waters of excruciating tests and new experiences we will never forget. We now each have memories of what is perhaps one of the greatest accomplishments of our lives. I just want to say that I love each and every one of you and wish you the very best of luck in everything you choose to do. We have come a long way from that first day of class, panicking because we didn't think we could make it another day. May God bless each of you richly, as you have each blessed me with a wonderful friendship I will treasure forever! :)
On the other side, I appreciate all the love and support everyone has shown for my Uncle Kirk. For those of you who don't know, he was diagnosed with cancer. He has been undergoing some major rounds of chemo and radiation, which have made him very ill. He is a miracle and God is truly working with him. I pray that he has a full recovery and can get back home to all of the things he loves the most. Please continue to keep him and his family in your prayers.

Tony took some of his ribs out to Don & Nancy's yesterday for the boys to eat sometime. Nancy said she was going to freeze a little of it, just for you, so they would be there when you felt like eating them. Its obvious who got all the cooking talent in our family.
