March 28th

Kirk and Laura really enjoyed their visit yesterday from Don and the boys. Kirk slept quite a bit yesterday though. He had a rough night last night. Laura said that he was up and down all night. His back was hurting and he felt bad. They started the nutrition through the IV last night so mabye that contributed to his sleeplessness. They are going to focus on getting some calories in him for the next few days. He will be getting Insure ( hope I spelled that right) starting today. The goal right now is to get him stronger so that mabye he can take his next chemo treatment. It is scheduled for April 2, but we don't know if he will get it then or not. It just depends on how this nutrition works out. Keep praying. I know that my prayers right now are that this is his low point and he will improve and get stronger.

Hey, I got to be the first comment on today' s posting. Just wanted to let everyone know that we had a wonderful visit from the boys yesterday. We hated to see them go but hopefully we will be home in a couple of days. Kirk has been up and about today, to the bathroom and sitting in a chair even though last night was a little rough. Our goal now is to continually get him stronger. The bout with not eating and all the treatments have really brought him down but Kirk is a strong willed person and said that he would do it. I very seriously doubt that he will take chemo on April 2nd we will just have to play that one by ear to see when the next one will be. Again, I cannot tell you how blessed we are to have all of you as friends. I told the nurses that we have such good friends at home that all I have to worry about is getting Kirk better they will take care of everything else. Again, we miss you and love you all!

Dear Kirk, Laura, Matthew, and Chase,

We hope and pray that your strength returns soon. We pray for God’s will in your life and we pray for God to be with Matthew and Chase.
I have a new student in my class from Rural Retreat that brought up your name. Then, the conversation changed to “Star’s owner”. Then one student talked about how Kirk had been his coach. Another one was telling us how his mother went to school with Kirk. As you can see, Kirk has touched so many people and they remember him in such positive ways. Please remind Kirk that he is loved and that our prayers are continuous.
Love,
Tammy, Timmy, Jacob, and Alli

Hey little brother,
Every time I call Laura you are snoozing. Know you need your sleep. You gotta drink all the Ensure they give you whether you like the taste or not cause soon you are going to be eating real food and it will all stay down. You are going to gain back all the weight you lost and maybe a little more. I am confident you are on the road to recovery so keep at it. Besides I have never heard you say that you would do something and not follow thru so I am sure when you said are going to beat this then that is exactly what you will do. I'll bet Granny will cook your favorites as soon as you are able to come to her house. As soon as they say you can come home just call and I'll be on the way to get you both. Hope to see you soon. We all miss you and Laura.
Luv all of y'all bunches.

Hello Kirk and Laura,
Glad the boys were able to visit with you. There is nothing better than seeing your kids.
A little tip on drinking the Ensure-drink it COLD even if you have to put it on ice. This will make it better.
Hang in there. We know you can do it. Remember Philippians 4:13
I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME.
You remain in our prayers,
Roy & Sheila

Kirk, Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness Lam. 3 v. 22-23

You are in our thoughts and prayers daily. We love you.

Thanks too all who keep this blog going. It is great to be able to keep up with Kirk's progress. We pray that each day will bring more strength and appetite! Tell Kirk that I will send him some UT orange for his room - that should make him feel much better!! Again, please let us know if there is anything that we can do!!
