March 17th

Laura asked me to post today. She told everyone in her last post on Thursday that they were going to run a light down in Kirk's stomach on Friday. They did this test late yesterday afternoon. The bad news is that they did find a blockage. It is a tumor in the tube between his stomach and the small intestine. This blockage is what is causing Kirk's nausea. Laura wants to go back to Cleveland, OH next week and talk to the doctors up there. They will possibly put a stint in to open up the tube. It is vital for them to open up this tube so he can eat and get the nourishment he needs to be strong enough to continue fighting. Please keep Kirk in your prayers. The power of prayer is remarkable. We all know how competitive Kirk is, and he will win this game with our prayers and support.

Kirk, I remember as a young teenager asking myself why such a good guy like my Dad had to be so sick. Lately I've been asking myself that same question about you. It's really hard to see someone you love have to suffer, and go through such trials. But,you are young, and you are a fighter. You have many people praying for you.I know that it's really hard for you to have to spend so much time in the hospital, but I have utter belief that God is with you and He will heal you.So keep being strong, keep hanging in there. It's not gonna be long till you'll be back to doing all the things you love to do.. Love Donna Wilson

Kirk and Laura,
I know the times seem tough now, as soon as you clear one hurdle another one appears. Just know that you will be victorious against this battle in the end. Hang in there and be strong.
You are in everyone's prayers and thoughts, every second of every day. You are such a special person, that is always willing to help others out, now it is time to let us do that for you. Regardless of what it is you may need, you just say the word and I can guarantee some one will take care of it. Be strong Kirk, I know you are a fighter.
Laura & Boys-if there is anything I can do, please let me know.

Love,
Sabrina

Kirk,
I ran into Eddie last night and we almost didnt recognize each other it had been so long. But after I talked to him it reminded me of many memories. I know you will win this fight because looking back you are indeed the luckiest man I know.
These are all memories of my chilhood that remind me of what a fighter you are. I remember one time asking you what the scar that was on your stomach and you telling me about having surgery when you were very little.
I remember one time we were on Huffard Lane (AKA Lake Mt. Airy Road). You went off on the 3 wheeler (Im really showing me age there) to get some cows up and I stayed with the gooseneck. All of the sudden you came flying back to the truck and got off the 3 wheeler while it was still moving. You were white as a sheet and when I asked what happened you said you had been riding through some laurels when you rode up on a sleeping bear. Apparently you went one way and he went the other.
Then there was the time you decided to come down the hill behind where your house is now and either the front tire blew or the brakes failed or something on the 3 wheeler and you rolled it several times down that hill.
And then there was the time you taught me about electricity. You were gonna replace the fuse box in the mixing shed. I asked you before you cut the main line with those bolt cutters if you had turned off the juice and you assured me you had. Well you hadnt and when you cut that line it threw you against the rear tire of that IH 966.
You must have really taught me something because I can remember all that stuff all these years later.
Keep fighting like you always have. Thanks for the life lessons.

Thank you for keeping the website up on Kirk's progress. We are thankful the tumor is benign. We, as well as Ricky, are wishing that Kirk will be able to return home soon. We know that you are so happy that Matthew and Chase can help Don keep things going at home.
Love, Uncle Fred and Beverly
